The Windfall Tree
The new, environmentally friendly and creative way
to experience a real tree in your home for the holidays.

How to build your Windfall Tree

Step 01. Collect your branches from your yard and your friends and relatives yards. It is fun to trade with friends and relatives, building connections and bonds that are symbolically represented in your Windfall Tree!

Step 02. Once you have received your “Windfall Tree Trunk”, screw it into the provided base. Sometimes we like to put our tree on a sturdy box or small table to give it more height and then cover the entire base with a decorative cloth.

Step 03. You may dress/decorate your trunk with garland.

Step 04. Cut and insert your larger branches at the bottom and work your way up to the top. You may use little snips of bare branch to wedge into the receiving holes to help hold the branch in the desired position. You may want to consider using a product like Wilt Stop. Wilt Stop safely reduces moisture loss by spraying the product on the branches before you assemble your tree. It is an all natural, organic product derived from the resin of pine trees.

Step 05. It is also fun to incorporate different types of trees and foliage into your creation. Think “Tree Bouquet”
We like to include many types of tree branches in our tree, holly and even rosemary into our Windfall Tree. You can be very creative – and the smell of fir, pine, cedar and rosemary is delightful! You can take into consideration any allergies that friends or family may have when choosing your branches. Keep in mind though that with a fake tree, PVC and lead is harmful to all, including your pets and especially children.

Step 06. Put your lights on! We strongly recommend the new “L E D” lighting systems. They do not get hot and they use much less power. A word of caution regarding new lighting, many brands use the same lead infused, PVC material used in fake trees for the wire jacket. We recommend that you rinse your lights off before installation every year and to wash your hands off after installation and removal. Always inspect all your lighting cords for damage before installation and do not leave your lights on when you are not at home or overnight.

Step 07. Decorate! Have fun!!!!

Step 08. Hydrate! We spray our Windfall Tree twice a day with a spray bottle of water; once at nighttime after we turn the tree lights off, and once in the morning before we turn the tree lights on. Although it is very safe with the power on, why take the chance? Turn your lights off when spraying the tree with water.

Step 09. We do not recommend keeping a Windfall tree up for more than two weeks.
